Our Mission

For generations, BBQ cook-offs have been more than competitions. They have been community traditions. Long before national circuits, sponsorships, and professional teams, BBQ events brought families, neighbors, churches, civic organizations, and entire towns together. Whether held on a small-town main street, at a church festival, a volunteer fire department fundraiser, or a county fair, these gatherings created memories and local legends. The champions of these events were often known throughout their communities, and their victories became part of local history.

The Official BBQ Champions Registry exists to honor those champions and preserve their stories. We believe every BBQ victory has value, from a hometown cook-off to a national championship. As competitive BBQ has grown into a respected sport with outstanding sanctioning bodies and world-class events, new generations of champions have emerged and elevated the craft to remarkable levels. Their accomplishments deserve recognition and preservation as well.

Our mission is to celebrate BBQ champions while preserving the rich history and community spirit that made BBQ competitions special in the first place. By creating a permanent public record of BBQ achievements, we honor the past, recognize the present, and help ensure that the traditions, stories, and champions of BBQ are remembered for generations to come.
